Frequently asked questions

How do I activate my school license? +

Your school leadership receives a school key from us in the format SNT-2026-XXXX-XXXXXXXX. In the app, open Settings → Activate school license, enter the key along with your first and last name — done. The activation applies to this device; you won't need an Apple or Google subscription.

'This device is already activated' — what now? +

Your device already has an active profile on this school key (e.g. after a reinstall). Ask your school leadership to release the old profile in the license management — then you can re-activate right away. Nothing is lost in the process: your classroom data lives locally on the device.

Where is my students' data stored? +

Exclusively local on your device. There is no Swipe'N'Teach account and no central server for student data. The optional iCloud sync runs through your personal, end-to-end-protected iCloud container.

How do I switch to a new device? +

Old device: Settings → Create backup (encrypted file) or enable iCloud sync. New device: install the app, import the backup or choose 'Connect with iCloud'. For a school license: release the license on the old device (Settings → Release license) and activate it on the new one.

How do I cancel my subscription? +

The subscription runs through Apple or Google, not through us. iPhone/iPad: Settings → [your name] → Subscriptions → Swipe'N'Teach → Cancel. Android: Play Store → Profile → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current period; your data is kept.

How do I import my class list? +

Classes → open a class → Import students. CSV and Excel files (.xlsx) are supported. The app automatically detects columns like first name and last name and shows a preview before importing. Tip: exporting from your school administration software as CSV usually works directly — you'll find a ready-made template in the Resources section.

What happens if the license server can't be reached? +

Nothing bad: the app works fully offline. Your license is verified cryptographically on the device and only checks in with the server briefly about every 7 days. Even without internet you can grade, plan and export as usual.

I found a bug — how do I report it? +

The easiest way is by email to support@swipenteach.app with a short description and — if possible — a screenshot. TestFlight testers can send feedback directly via the screenshot share dialog. We read everything and reply personally.
